Knowing Your Home: Weatherization Basics

Join LakewoodAlive and Cleveland Lumber Company for a workshop designed to help you get your home in tip-top shape for the fall and winter months.
The workshop will highlight a wide range of middle to high impact improvements and “hacks” that you can do yourself that will help to keep the cold air out and your warm and cozy air inside.
We will also cover caulking and air sealing techniques, installation of weatherstripping, benefits of storm doors and windows and other easy to do tasks that will make your home more efficient.
We will also cover the benefits of an energy audit and how it can help make large projects like insulation, furnace or air conditioning replacement or a hot water tank replacement easier and more cost beneficial.
Lastly, we will focus on all essential tasks to put your home to bed for the winter, ensuring that it winters safely as possible, these tips will help to keep exterior pipes from freezing etc.
Knowing Your Home is an educational series focused on best sustainability and home maintenance practices empowering homeowners to tackle necessary repairs and improvements.
