As a Lakewoodite, chances are you have limited space in which to grow your garden. But that doesn’t mean you can’t put your green thumb to good use.
LakewoodAlive will host Knowing Your Home: Container Gardening on Saturday, April 25, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. as a virtual workshop. The fourth workshop of 2020 for this popular home maintenance educational series will cover how you can maximize your gardening potential with limited space by adopting the practice of growing plants in containers rather than planting them in the ground.
Led by Paul Bilyk, owner of Lakewood Garden Center, this workshop will address tips for capitalizing on your small space while gardening, best practices for growing flowers, herbs and vegetables within containers like pots and tubs, and the many benefits associated with container gardening – including its versatility, the color and beauty it produces, and its ability to serve as a food source.
Container gardening is ideal for many Lakewoodites who have only a balcony or whose yards offer little or no traditional garden space. Join us to learn about its appeal and why it might be the perfect gardening solution for you.
