Free Home Educational Workshops Take Place on Oct. 1, Oct. 8 and Oct. 22

Lakewood, OH – October is generally considered the month for haunts and changing leaves, but this year it will also be the month for home improvement.  LakewoodAlive will host a trio of free “Knowing Your Home” workshops next month when “Wooden Step Repair & Replacement,” “Heating System 101” and “Bathroom Remodeling” take place on Oct. 1, Oct. 8 and Oct. 22, respectively.

The latest installments of LakewoodAlive’s popular home educational series seek to empower area homeowners with the necessary knowledge and confidence to tackle home repairs and improvement projects.  Each workshop is spearheaded by an industry expert who is well-qualified to guide attendees through the process of completing a particular home maintenance task.

Knowing Your Home: Wooden Step Repair & Replacement
When: Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon)
Where: A private residence at 1460 Westwood Avenue in Lakewood
What: Led by John Turner, this workshop will feature an on-site presentation providing a step-by-step approach to both repairing and replacing wooden steps, enabling participants to better decide which option is right for them.  Participants will gain insight into the design and implementation of a step replacement.

Knowing Your Home: Heating System 101
When: Saturday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon)
Where: Slife Heating & Cooling – 13729 Madison Avenue in Lakewood
What: Join Dave Slife for a workshop to discuss the heating system options at homeowners’ disposal.  This workshop will help attendees evaluate the status of their system prior to the return of Old Man Winter.

Knowing Your Home: Bathroom Remodeling
When: Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon)
Where: Cleveland Lumber – 9410 Madison Avenue in Cleveland
What: If your home’s bathroom is ready for a makeover, then this is the workshop for you.  We’ll delve into remodeling best practices, helping you achieve the bathroom you want on time and on budget.
