Our Front Porch Concert Series is right around the corner! From reggae to rock to soul and pop, we are thrilled to provide a diverse lineup of local talent each Friday evening in June and July on the front steps of Lakewood Public Library. We are looking forward to seeing Lakewoodites dancing together under the evening sun at this free nine week outdoor concert series.
Nothing says July in Lakewood quite like the Lakewood Summer Meltdown. This lively summer street festival is characterized by hot weather, cold beer, the sound of live music and activities for all ages, including the skate park and evening 5K race and 1 Mile Family Fun Run.
“It is the true essence of summer,” said Dana, a Lakewood resident, “It wouldn’t be summer in Lakewood, without a run in the water moose.”
Spooky Pooch Parade brings a smile to the face of every attendee. This unique autumn celebration features a parade of creatively costumed canines and their human companions. Last year, Lakewood’s Birdtown neighborhood transformed into ‘Dogtown’ as we took over Madison Park for the day.
Light Up Lakewood celebrates warm spirits and cold weather, bringing the holiday season to life. This fun event includes a little festivity for the whole family from the holiday train to the beer garden and parade. Nothing compares to the delight of bundling up on a chilly December day with a hot chocolate in hand while carolers sing under the warm glow of lights.
“Light Up Lakewood brings me the ‘warm and fuzzy’ feeling of the holiday season where members of the community can celebrate together. The day is bursting with energy (and fireworks!),” reflected Amanda, a LakewoodAlive board member.
