Tune in here this Friday at 7 pm

A longtime friend of the series makes his return to the performer lineup when The Pocket takes the stage for LakewoodAlive’s Virtual Front Porch Concert Series this Friday, August 7.

Sponsored by Bentley Wealth Management of Raymond James, the 2020 Front Porch Concert Series features eight musical performances hosted virtually via LakewoodAlive’s Facebook page on Friday evenings at 7 p.m.  The series, which aims to foster Lakewood’s vibrancy while offering a safe, family-friendly entertainment option, runs through August 21.

Week 6 is presented by NOPEC and brings to the stage The Pocket, a fun-loving band that will get you grooving to a funk-fusion sound blending elements of jazz, funk and soul.

The Pocket is fronted by Christopher Vance, a mainstay in the local music scene who has been performing and offering private musical instruction for more than a decade.  Vance, formerly the owner of a Lakewood-based music studio, was involved with the Front Porch Concert Series at its onset and was instrumental in helping to develop the program.  He is excited to perform as part of this year’s series.

In addition to Vance, The Pocket consists of seasoned musicians Liz Bullock (vocals), Dan Bruce (guitar), Johnny Cochran Jr. (saxophone), Jimmie A. Parker Sr. (keyboard) and John Stebal III (drums).

Now in its 10th year, the popular music series is taking on a different format to ensure health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, yet LakewoodAlive remains committed to enhancing Lakewood’s sense of community by offering free weekly concerts that families and all music lovers can enjoy.  Visit  LakewoodAlive.org/FrontPorchConcerts to learn more.
