LakewoodAlive will host a free webinar presentation – entitled SharedWork Ohio: How To Help Employees Facing Reduced Hours – on Wednesday, July 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. focused on SharedWork Ohio, a voluntary layoff aversion program, and how small business owners can assist employees facing reduced hours.

SharedWork Ohio allows workers to remain employed and employers to retain trained staff during times of reduced business activity.  The participating employee works the reduced hours each week, and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) provides eligible individuals an unemployment insurance benefit proportionate to their reduced hours.

Claudia M. Dillinger, SHRM-CP,  Director of Human Resources for the City of Lakewood, will serve as presenter for this webinar.  Members of Lakewood’s small business community are invited to participate by registering here.  Space for attending this webinar is limited, and those interested in participating are urged to register ahead of time.  A recording of this presentation will be shared at a later date.

SharedWork Ohio: How To Help Employees Facing Reduced Hours marks the latest in LakewoodAlive’s ongoing efforts – in partnership with the City of Lakewood and Lakewood Chamber of Commerce – to assist Lakewood’s small business community during this uncertain time.  To learn more, please visit our webpage (LakewoodAlive.org/COVID19) devoted to compiling resources for assisting Lakewood small businesses during this crisis.
