LakewoodAlive will host a free webinar presentation – entitled Commercial Leases: A Legal Guide to Protecting Yourself Now and in the Future – on Thursday, June 11 from 10 to 11 a.m. focused on helping small business owners to better understand their leases and guiding them through their options when seeking lease renewal.

Led by Margaret Cooper, an attorney specializing in commercial lease & tenant law and founder of Margaret E. Cooper, LLC, this presentation will offer lease guidance and examples of how to negotiate when considering renewal or signing a new lease.  This presentation will specifically address the impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on lease structures.

Commercial leases can be complex and far too often tenants aren’t fully aware of the terms of their lease, assuming various items and clauses are contained within when, in fact, they are not.

Members of Lakewood’s small business community are invited to participate by registering here.  Space for attending this webinar is limited, and those interested in participating are urged to register ahead of time.  A recording of this presentation will be shared at a later date.

Commercial Leases: A Legal Guide to Protecting Yourself Now and in the Future marks the latest in LakewoodAlive’s ongoing efforts – in partnership with the City of Lakewood and Lakewood Chamber of Commerce – to assist Lakewood’s small business community during this uncertain time.  To learn more, please visit our webpage (LakewoodAlive.org/COVID19) devoted to compiling resources for assisting Lakewood small businesses during this crisis.
