Live music starts at 7 p.m. from the front porch of Lakewood Public Library
Get the kids ready to treble with excitement and get Bach to having some fun when Mr. Eric’s Music takes the stage at LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series at 7 p.m. this Friday, July 26.
Sponsored by Bentley Wealth Management of Raymond James, the Front Porch Concert Series features free, live music on the front steps of Lakewood Public Library (15425 Detroit Avenue) in Downtown Lakewood from 7 to 9 p.m. for 10 consecutive Fridays. The series, which aims to foster Lakewood’s vibrancy while providing a family-friendly summer entertainment option, runs through August 30.
Week 5 is presented by Lakewood Public Library and features a performance by Mr. Eric’s Music, a longtime musician who will perform a fun and interactive music program catered towards children. Mr. Eric’s acoustic-style songs will be geared towards kids and young attendees will have an opportunity to contribute to the vocals.
Eric Ahlteen is a father of three who regularly played music with his kids as they were growing up, and who opened a café in Powell, Ohio, where he produced weekly music shows with children. He often cites the numerous benefits associated with exposing children to music education, including boosting brain power, improving memory, teaching discipline and providing an avenue for individual expression.
Now in its ninth year, LakewoodAlive’s popular Front Porch Concert Series adds vibrancy and an enhanced sense of community to Lakewood’s urban core, drawing several thousand attendees annually.
