LakewoodAlive is excited to welcome Laura Mottor to our team to serve as Staff Program Assistant.  In this role Laura works with staff members to support executing each of LakewoodAlive’s programs, while also serving as the first point of contact for greeting visitors to our office.

Laura Mottor, LakewoodAlive’s new Staff Program Assistant, poses at Madison Park in Lakewood.

Laura arrives at LakewoodAlive having spent the last seven years working in the nonprofit sector with an emphasis on fine arts.  Previously she served as a Visitor Services Associate for the Cleveland Museum of Art, honing her outstanding customer service skills.  Prior to that experience, Laura held the role of Development & Exhibitions Director at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts in Spring, Texas.

A native of Houston, Texas, Laura graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and went on to earn a Master of Arts Administration degree from the University of New Orleans.

Laura moved to Lakewood in late November 2016 and one of her first impressions of the city arose from attending LakewoodAlive’s Light Up Lakewood 2016.  She was immediately enamored by Lakewood’s vibrancy and strong sense of community, and has called the city home ever since.

“We’re extremely excited to have Laura join our team,” said Ian Andrews, Executive Director for LakewoodAlive.  “Laura’s blend of nonprofit experience and passion for our community positions her exceptionally well to contribute to our ongoing mission to foster and sustain vibrant neighborhoods in Lakewood.”

Laura currently resides on Athens Avenue in Lakewood with her husband, Josh, and their pets – a dog named Aston and a cat named J.D.  In her spare time she enjoys creative arts, gardening and exercising at Birdtown Crossfit.  She puts her green thumb to good use by maintaining a LEAF Community garden plot along Bonnieview Avenue.
