If you’re looking to dance, then you’ve come to the right place. Dancing shoes will be plentiful when The Corner Store Funk Band takes the stage for Week 7 of LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series this Friday, August 3.
Sponsored by Bentley Wealth Management of Raymond James, the Front Porch Concert Series features free, live music on the front steps of Lakewood Public Library (15425 Detroit Avenue) in Downtown Lakewood from 7 to 9 p.m. for 12 consecutive Fridays. The series, which aims to foster Lakewood’s vibrancy while providing a family-friendly summer entertainment option, runs through September 7.
Week 7 of the series is presented by Cleveland Clinic Lakewood Family Health Center and features The Corner Store Funk Band, a fun-loving group that’s sure to delight the crowd by playing an energetic brand of funk music that’s known to induce dancing.
The Corner Store Funk Band consists of seven instructors representing The Lakewood Music Collective, a Lakewood-based music studio. Each member is either a graduate or a student of the Department of Music at Cleveland State University. The band consists of Mike Abbadini (Keyboard/Vocals), Dan Dimarino (Trombone), Crischian Jimenez (Percussion), Stephanie Luzar (Vocals), Tim Miller (Drums), Chris Parsons (Bass) and Joseph Rangel (Guitar).
Now in its ninth year, LakewoodAlive’s popular Front Porch Concert Series adds vibrancy and an enhanced sense of community to Lakewood’s urban core, drawing several thousand attendees annually.
