Live music starts at 7 p.m. from the front porch of Lakewood Public Library

The seasoned musicians comprising The Rough & Tumble are no strangers to life on the road, and they are sure to have more than a few stories to tell upon bringing their trademark folk-Americana sound to LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series at 7 p.m. this Friday, July 6.

The Rough & Tumble

The Rough & Tumble plays the Front Porch Concert Series this Friday, July 6.

Sponsored by Bentley Wealth Management of Raymond James, the Front Porch Concert Series features free, live music on the front steps of Lakewood Public Library in Downtown Lakewood from 7 to 9 p.m. for 12 consecutive Fridays.  The series, which aims to foster Lakewood’s vibrancy while providing a family-friendly summer entertainment option, runs through September 7.

Week 3 of the series features The Rough & Tumble in a performance presented by Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC).  Prolific songwriters and born-travelers, this folk-Americana duo takes its audience on a musical adventure with the unique sound and energy they bring to every performance.

The band consists of Pennsylvania-born Mallory Graham and California-born Scott Tyler, who have lived in their 16-foot camper since 2015, making tire tracks nationwide since 2011.  With the release of their first full length record (“We Made Ourselves a Home When We Didn’t Know”) in 2018, The Rough & Tumble retraces its mileage back over the years and explores the struggle between going home and being home already when there’s no other home and everywhere is home.

Now in its ninth year, LakewoodAlive’s popular Front Porch Concert Series adds vibrancy and an enhanced sense of community to Lakewood’s urban core, drawing several thousand attendees annually.  Each week showcases a different style of music while Lakewoodites and visitors enjoy an entertaining evening at an open-air venue.  Visit LakewoodAlive.org/FrontPorchConcerts for more information.
