More than 80 percent of all homes in our city were built before 1935.  Our aging housing stock has a lot of charm and character, but with that comes the potential for higher costs for repairs and improvements.

LakewoodAlive Home Maintenance Workshop

LakewoodAlive’s “Home Maintenance” workshop takes place on May 17.

LakewoodAlive will host Knowing Your Home: Home Maintenance on Thursday, May 17, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lakewood Public Library (15425 Detroit Avenue in Downtown Lakewood).  The seventh workshop of 2018 for this popular home maintenance educational series will focus on the must-do home maintenance tasks that homeowners – especially those with 80 to 100+ year-old homes – should make a priority in order to prevent major repair issues down the road.

This workshop will outline a yearly home maintenance schedule for homeowners to undertake.  By properly tracking home maintenance tasks and implementing preventative home maintenance measures, homeowners can gain the knowledge and confidence they need to better anticipate and address future home repairs before they become problematic.

With our society becoming increasingly digital, this workshop will devote time to covering websites and apps that can be used to store all home repair information in one convenient place, making life easier for homeowners.
