LakewoodAlive Receives 2018 National Main Street Accreditation

LakewoodAlive has been designated as an accredited Main Street America™ program for meeting rigorous performance standards set by the National Main Street Center.  Each year the National Main Street Center and its Coordinating Program partners announce the list of accredited Main Street America programs in recognition of their exemplary commitment to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization through the Main Street Approach®.

LakewoodAlive 2018 National Main Street Accreditation

LakewoodAlive’s performance is evaluated annually by Heritage Ohio, which works in partnership with the National Main Street Center to identify the local programs that meet a set of performance standards.  Evaluation criteria determines the communities that are building comprehensive and sustainable revitalization efforts and include standards such as fostering strong public-private partnerships, securing an operating budget, tracking programmatic progress and actively preserving historic buildings.

“We are thrilled to have earned accreditation once again from the National Main Street Center, and thankful to our incredibly dedicated board, volunteers and staff who made this accomplishment possible,” said LakewoodAlive Executive Director Ian Andrews.  “This recognition is a testament to our collaborative efforts to foster and sustain neighborhood vibrancy.”

LakewoodAlive is a community-centered nonprofit organization that seeks to foster and sustain vibrant neighborhoods in Lakewood.  This is achieved through operating the Main Street™ program in Downtown Lakewood, administering a Housing Outreach Program, hosting large-scale community events and pursuing community development initiatives.  For more information regarding LakewoodAlive, please visit LakewoodAlive.org.
