Live music starts at 7 p.m. from the front porch of Lakewood Public Library
There’s just something about jazz music. The genre’s smooth rhythms and creative improvisations have the power to captivate an audience, and such will be the case this Friday, July 28, when The Chris Vance Trio performs at LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series.
Sponsored by Bentley Wealth Management of Raymond James, the Front Porch Concert Series features free, live music on the front steps of Lakewood Public Library (15425 Detroit Avenue) in Downtown Lakewood from 7 to 9 p.m. for 11 consecutive Fridays. The series, which aims to foster Lakewood’s vibrancy while providing a family-friendly summer entertainment option, runs through September 15.
Week 4 brings to the stage The Chris Vance Trio. This seasoned group of musicians consists of friends who have diverse musical backgrounds and specialize in playing jazz music. They are fronted by Chris Vance, owner of Vance Music Studios, a Lakewood-based studio that’s offered high-quality private musical instruction for more than a decade. Dan Bruce (guitar) and Anthony Taddeo (drums) round out the trio.
“I’ve been involved with the Front Porch Concert Series since it started, and it’s always a great opportunity to play at a unique venue in front of a fun crowd,” said Vance.
Now in its seventh year, LakewoodAlive’s popular Front Porch Concert Series adds vibrancy and an enhanced sense of community to Lakewood’s urban core, drawing several thousand attendees annually. Each week showcases a different style of music while Lakewoodites and visitors enjoy an entertaining evening at an open-air venue. Visit LakewoodAlive.org/FrontPorchConcerts for more information.
